HUMANE FOREIGN AFFAIRS
We must stand firmly with our democratic partners and against acts of aggression that threaten global stability. That means continuing to support Ukraine as it defends itself against Russia’s unjust and unprovoked war. The United States must remain clear in its commitment to sovereignty, international law, and the principle that borders cannot be changed by force.
At the same time, Congress has a vital responsibility to exercise strong oversight over the Executive Branch when it comes to committing American troops to long-term conflicts overseas. The decision to deploy our service members must be made with transparency, accountability, and a clear strategy. We must honor the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform by ensuring that military force is used carefully, deliberately, and only when truly necessary.
America’s leadership in the world also extends beyond military strength. We must restore and strengthen programs like the U.S. Agency for International Development so that the United States can continue helping partner nations access the resources and support they need to build stability and opportunity. We must stand with Taiwan in the face of coercion, while preserving and strengthening our partnerships through alliances such as NATO and the United Nations. Through diplomacy, development, and strong alliances, the United States can continue to play its vital role in promoting global stability, cooperation, and principled leadership.
